In Bristol Girls Little League Softball action this past weekend:
Erin Giraud tossed a three hitter and struck out 11 in leading the Tigers to a 13-3 season opening win over the Pride. Mackenzie Bonnville hit a three-run homer while Mackenzie Lewis paced the offense with two hits. Kaylee Hall and Lyzah Corliss each had a single. Corliss scored three times. Emily Ericson made caught a high pop up in foul territory near her team’s bench. Olivia Darby and Aliana Rivoira each had a hit and run scored. Gwen Torreso contributed offensively with a hit. Gabbie Schinkel settled down after the first two innings to finished the game strong by tossing each strikeouts in a losing effort. Darby and Torreso each made a nice defensive play on the field.
Emily Marquis and Olivia Darby each belted a twp-run home run to power the Pride to a 20-2 victory over Plainville. Kayla Beaulieu paced the offense with two hits including a double, two RBI, two stolen bases, and scored two times. Gwen Torreso and Aliana Rivoira each had a hit. Priya Aggarwal, Darby, and Torreso each scored three times. Rivoira pitched a great game by allowing one hit and four walks while striking out 11.
