Bristol police made an arrested Monday evening after a reported armed robbery at the Gulf Mart, 180 Riverside Ave. A press release said the cashier told officers that a male entered the gas station, placed his hand inside of his jacket and demanded money while stating he had a gun.
“The cashier offered no resistance and after getting the money the suspect then fled on foot heading westbound from the store,” the release added.
Police were able to locate the suspect who is identified as Kevin Chamberlain, 42, no address provided, who was arrested and charged with first degree robbery and second degree larceny. He was also charged with possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia, and the money that was found in his possession was consistent with the money taken during the robbery. Chamberlain was additionally charged with violation of probation on an arrest warrant from the Simsbury Police Department.
Chamberlain was held on a $100,000 bond for the robbery pending his March 4 court date. The warrant arrest had a $972 cash only bond set.
