In addition to its regular hours, the Bristol Public Library’s local history room will be open from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 2. Visitors will have a chance to win a free gift.
On permanent display in the Bristol History Room are nearly a hundred historic images including an entire wall devoted to Lake Compounce. There is a temporary exhibit of Bristol made clocks and New Departure bells. The collection includes: books, pictures and postcards, city directories, yearbooks, maps, diaries, church and assessor’s records, newspapers on microfilm, cemetery, birth, death and marriage indexes.
