Obituaries: Marie J. Fournier

Marie J. (Fradette) Fournier, 102, of Bristol, widow of Paul E. Fournier, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday (March 21, 2016) at St. Francis Hospital.  Marie was born in Inverness, Quebec, Canada, on February 19, 1914 and was one of 11 children of the late Joseph and Angelina (Fillion) Fradette. She was a longtime Bristol resident where she raised her family and was a parishioner of St. Ann Church, Bristol, and was a member of the Ladies of St. Ann Society. Marie is survived by three children: Helen Lozier and husband, James, of Forestville, Susan DeSantis and husband, Joseph, of Middlebury, and David Fournier and wife, Yolande, of Bristol; twin sisters: Fleurette Shingler, Jeannine Quick of Bristol and sister-in-law Patricia Fradette of Windham, NH; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a daughter; Doreen Roy; brothers: Anatole, Patrick, and Russell Fradette; sisters: Noelia Ouimet, Clara Baillargeon, Irene Carucci, Bernadette Meusel and Rita Burke.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday (March 29, 2016) at 11:30 AM at St. Ann Church, 215 West Street, Bristol.  Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol.  Relatives and friends may call at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, on Tuesday between 9 and 11 AM.
