Chester J. Deschaine, 76, of Bristol, beloved husband of Alice (Leclair) Deschaine, passed away peacefully on Tuesday (March 22, 2016) at Bristol Hospital after a long struggle with COPD. Chester was born on April 2, 1939 in Fort Kent Maine. He grew up in Fort Kent and served in the United States Army before coming to Bristol. He worked for New Departure-Hyatt in Bristol for 32 years before retiring and was a parishioner of St. Ann Church. In addition to his wife of 54 years, Chester is survived by his two daughters: Jacqueline Martin and her husband, Jeffrey, of Ellington, and Suzanne Zimmerman of Bristol; four grandchildren: Timothy A. Zimmerman of Germantown, MD, Corinne, Christina, and Erich Martin of Ellington; a great-granddaughter, Auden Collelo of Ellington; four half-brothers: Joseph A. Cyr and wife, Relda, of Plantsville, J. Donald Cyr and wife, Eva, of Hamlin, ME, Phillip Cyr and wife, Patsy, of Fort Kent, ME, and Clifford Cyr and wife, Janice, of Madawaska, ME; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday (March 29, 2016) at 9 AM from Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, to St. Ann Church, 215 West St, Bristol, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM. Burial, with military honors, will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Relatives and friends may call at Funk Funeral Home on Monday between 5 and 8 PM.
