Man arrested after incident with loaded gun

Police arrested a Meriden man following an incident last Thursday involving a loaded gun that resulted in a officer being injured as the suspect was subdued.
Police reported that they received a 911 hang up call. Officers subsequently responded to responded to 371 Emmett St., Unit 86. The two officers were met by a hostile/threatening male. This individual brandished a loaded pistol in a threatening manner toward the officers, said police.
The two officers then had to physically subdue the male to release his grasp on the pistol. One of the officers was injured in this struggle. It took a third officer to help place the male into handcuffs.
Police said Robert Kennedy, 33, of 90 Hillside Ave., Meriden, was charged with assault on a police officer, threatening in the first degree, breach of oeace in the second degree, interfering with an officer and refusal to be fingerprinted. Kennedy was held on a $100,000 bond.
Police said Lori A. Grzeika, 35, of 371 Emmett St., Unit 86, also was arrested in the incident and charged with interfering with an Officer. Police Grzeika posted a $2,500 bond and was later released pending a court date of July 21 at G.A. 17 in Bristol.
The injured officer was not seriously hurt and was able to continue his shift, said police.
