‘A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD.’ “The Young Audiences Series at Playhouse on Park.” Follows the two friends—the very cheerful Frog and the rather grumpy Toad—in their adventures through the four seasons. 70 minutes long, appropriate for ages 3 and up. PITCH, HIT, AND RUN. Competition for area youth sponsored by Bristol Sports Hall of Fame. 11 a.m. Boys and girls divided into four age divisions, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14. Advance through four levels of competition including Team Championships at Major League ballparks, and the national finals at the 2014 MLB All-Star Game. The individual pitching, hitting, and running champions, along with the All-Around champion in each age and gender group at the local competition will be awarded and advance to the sectional level of competition. Participants should bring a copy of their birth certificate and have their parent or guardian fill out a registration/ waiver form prior to the start of the competition. INDIAN ROCK NATURE PRESERVE SUMMER CAMP OPEN HOUSE. 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Learn about everything Indian Rock has to offer. Experience a hayride that will stop at Indian Rock’s program areas and buildings where staff will provide an informal tour. Indian Rock Preserve is owned and operated by the Environmental Learning Centers of Connecticut. Children in kindergarten through 12th grade can participate in swimming, canoeing, kayaking, archery, hiking, arts and crafts, Native American living, farm life, nature studies, animal husbandry, more.
