Summer camp activities offered by city; registration begins May 27

BristolParks and Recreation will be offering its highly popular Summer FUN Day The camp program as well as two brand new summer camps, Little Explorers for children ages 3 to 5 and Teen Adventure Quest for ages 12 to 15. Registration for these camps opens on Tuesday, May 27 online at www.bristolrec.com, over the phone at (860)584-6160, or in person at the Parks and Recreation Office Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. For any questions on the summer camps please contact Joshua Medeiros, Recreation Coordinator at joshuamedeiros@ci.bristol.ct.us

 

Summer FUN The camp (6 to 13 years): Day camp is available for Bristol youth ages 6 to 13 years. Summer camp is the perfect opportunity for youth to participate in a variety of activities, learn new skills, make new friends, and create memories that last a lifetime. The camp is held at StaffordSchool with camper’s ages 6 to 9 years meeting in the cafeteria and ages 10 to 13 years meeting in the gym. Program is held rain or shine Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 30 to Aug. 15 (no program on July 4). The fee is $65 per week.

 

Each week your camper will have the opportunity to participate in various activities including organized games, sports, and arts and crafts. The campers go swimming daily (6 to 9 years at Rockwell Park Pool and (10 to 13 years at Page Park Pool). Each week, campers will go to Spare Time for bowling/laser tag, there will also be special fieldtrips and entertainers.

Little Explorers The Camp (3 to 5 years): Little Explorers is available to Bristol youth ages 3 to 5 years. The program provides a safe, nurturing, and fun environment in which children can make new friends, enjoy new activities, create works of art, learn new things, and experience age-appropriate independence. The camp is held at Mountain ViewSchool Monday through Fridays June 30 to Aug. 15 (no program on July 4). The program is available in either morning session (9 a.m. to 12 p.m.) or afternoon session (12:30 to 3:30 p.m.). The fee is $45 per week.

Teen Adventure Quest: Travel The camp (12 to 15 years): Teen Quest is available for Bristol youth ages 12 to 15 years. This travel camp will get your teens engaged this summer with weekly excursions and entertainment. Teens are dropped off at StaffordSchool at 9 a.m. and will be transported to a new trip each day. Program meets three times a week Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday throughout the month of July. Participants may register for the entire summer or by the week. Spaces are limited and fill quickly. The fee is $85/per week.
