Obituaries: Frank M. Marano

Frank M. Marano, 81, of Bristol, widower of Lenora Marano, died on Saturday (March 12, 2016) at Bristol Hospital.  Frank was born on March 5, 1935 in Hartford and was a son of the late Michael and Rose (Savalli) Marano.  A longtime Bristol resident, he served in the United States Air Force in the late 1950’s serving in Japan as a radio relay technician.  He worked in the building trades as an electrician and tile mason helping to install the tile when Westfarms Mall was built.  He also worked in quality control for Precision Inspection Company and had retired after working in facility maintenance for Eagle Federal and Webster banks.  Frank enjoyed fishing and gardening.  He enjoyed caring for his roses and fig tree in his yard and always had flowers in his home.  Frank leaves his dedicated son: Andrew J. Marano of Bristol; several nieces and nephews, and his adored German Shepherd, Mia.  He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Lenora in 2007, son, Michael A. Marano in 1988, and his brother: Gaspare “Pat” Favara in 2015.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday (March 16, 2016) at 10:30 AM at St. Anthony Church, 111 School Street, Bristol.  Burial, with military honors, will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol.  Relatives and friends may call at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, on Wednesday between 9 and 10 AM.  Memorial donations may be made the Bristol Veteran’s Council, PO Box 2634, Bristol, CT 06011.  Please visit Frank’s memorial web-site at www.FUNKFUNERALHOME.comMarano, Frank obit
