Rejeanne (Roy) Cormier, 81, of Bristol, beloved wife of Levite R. Cormier, Sr., died on Wednesday (February 3, 2016) at Bristol Hospital surrounded by her family. Rejeanne was born in St. Cyprian, Quebec, Canada on June 11, 1934 and was one of 15 children of the late Joseph and Rosanna (Dumont) Roy. Raised in Canada, she moved to northern Maine where she met and married Levite. She enjoyed a career at Pratt and Whitney Aircraft in Southington for 21 years retiring in 1995. After her retirement from Pratt, she went to work for the Bristol Community Organization where she enjoyed helping others. Known for her strong work ethic, she would perform beyond her duties and made many friends through work or wherever she went. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and sewing. Among the highlights of her life was that she was proud to have become an American citizen. Rejeanne valued education passing that on to her two daughters who are both teachers. A woman of faith, she prayed the rosary daily and would watch the daily TV Mass as she couldn’t attend Mass at her parish, St. Matthew Church in Forestville. She was a devoted wife to her husband of 60 years, Levite, and a dedicated mom to her three children: Claire Fournier and husband, Leigh, of Bristol, Levite “Lee” Cormier, Jr., and wife, Cynthia, of Bristol, and Diane Balzano of Northford. She will forever be cherished as “Memere” to her seven grandchildren: John (Elizabeth) Fournier, Gregory Fournier, Christine (Brian) Martin, Michael (Sabrina) Cormier, Kaitlin Cormier, Anthony and Theresa Balzano. She was further blessed with six great-grandchildren:, Dominic, Joshua, Brayden, and Jacob Martin, Mia and Michael Cormier, and a baby Fournier due in March. She is also survived by four siblings: Marte Pouliot, Madeline Morin, Rejean Roy, and Bruno Roy, all of Canada; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday (February 8, 2016) at 10 AM from Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, to St. Matthew Church, 120 Church Ave., Forestville, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM.
