On Sunday, Aug. 23, the 7th annual Bryon’s Run/Walk/Stroll will be held.
This is a fund raiser to benefit a 9-year-old boy and family that lives in Bristol and has been fighting an inoperable brain tumor.
Bryon Schiffres and his family’s life was changed forever in Jan. 2009 when the brain tumor, which was 1/3 the size of his brain mass was diagnosed.
The fund raiser was initiated by a friend of Byron’s mother seven years ago to help with the medical costs. This year, the family is in the process of renovating their home to make it wheelchair accessible.
This is a family fun event being held at the Dennis N. Malone Aquatic Center at 9:30 a.m. with pre-registration starting at 8 a.m.
There will be a fun kids run and raffles to win prizes from: Story Land, Stone Age Rock Gym, the New Britain Rock Cat tickets, the Beardsley Zoo, TheaterWorks, and Thomas Hooker Brewery.
