Team Competitions: The Bristol Seniors will be competing at the Middlewoods of Newington in Wii bowling on Wednesday, Aug. 19 at 9:30 a.m..
The Bristol Prime Eights will be competing at the Vernon Senior Center in Billiards on Monday, Aug. 10 at 9:30 p.m.
The Bristol Senior Wii Bowling team of Richard Ouellette, Myrtle Ouellette, Howard Achille, and Russ Pons won the Torrington Wii Invitational in July. Russ Pons bowled two 300 games and Richard Ouellette bowled three 300 games and was named the tournament’s outstanding bowler.
Farmer’s Market Coupons: The Bristol Senior Center has farmer’s market coupons for anyone 60 years of age or older that fall into a certain income bracket. For a single person the need to make less than $1,800per month and a couple should make less than $2,426 per month. Verification of income and personal identification must be shown.
Hot Dog Roast: The Bristol Senior Center will be holding our Annual Hot Dog Roast on Friday, Aug. 14 at 4 pm. Tickets are $5 per person and hot dogs, sauerkraut, pasta salad, coleslaw, baked beans, chips and iced tea or lemonade will be served. Entertainment will be done by Tom Stankus. Tickets are available at the Senior Center and are limited to the first 120.
Biking: The Biking Club will have its second bike ride of the season to the Southington Bike Path on Wednesday, Aug. 26. Please call the Senior Center at (860)584-7895 to sign up as space is limited.
Hiking: The Hiking Club will have its second hike of the season to the Dinosaur State Park in Rocky Hill on Wednesday, Aug. 12 at 9 a.m.. Please call the Senior Center at 860-584-7895 to reserve a spot as space is limited.
