On Thursday, Oct. 23 at 7 p.m., members of Franklin Lodge, No.56, A.F. & A.M. willpresent a Power Point presentation about the history and importance of the Masons in Bristol. This organization has a long standing history beginning in 1819. The Shepard Home on Hill Street, Chippens Hill, was an early site. In the early 1890s, the Masons moved to Main Street when it constructed the Masonic Building, occupying the third floor, while the rest of the building was occupied by the Muzzy Brothers Department Store. Prominent national and Bristol figures who were members will be discussed.
